3 Color Tips to Increase PPC Landing Page Conversion Rates

While it is known that customers can create an opinion of a product within a minute or two, not many know that much of the decision is actually based on the product’s color. Even with this in mind, however, many companies still fail to incorporate attractive colors when designing a PPC landing page

If you want to design a PPC landing page that not only produces good impressions but also converts visitors to customers, then you must pay attention to this article. With that said, here are three color tips for PPC landing pages to increase conversion rates.

1. Use a simple color scheme

Remember, simple is always better. Most people tend to prefer landing pages that contain simple blends of color over complex color schemes. As a rule of thumb, you should opt for no more than two different colors. As with what color you should be choosing, know that people tend to favor pages that are dominated by dark colors such, as purple and blue. On the same note, people tend to dislike pages that are dominated by brighter colors, such as yellow.

With that in mind, select a color or two within the range of blue and purple. At the same time, avoid selecting any color like yellow and pair bright and dark colors, especially if they do not contrast well. For example, blue and white are acceptable, while green and red aren’t.

2. Choose a color that attracts customers

As you know, each person has their own preferences, which is especially true when it comes to the different genders. This means that, while you might opt for a color that a man likes, keep in mind that a woman may dislike it. Fortunately, there are some colors out there that are known to be appealing to both genders. For example, the green and blue are shared between the sexes, with the added exception of red to men and purple to women. With that said, this still doesn’t mean that men will outright loathe purple, and women will dislike red.

If you want to appeal to the general audience, stick to colors within the blue and purple range, as those colors are the most attractive to everyone. The same can also be applied if you’re only marketing to specific genders. Research which colors are most appealing to your audience first and utilize them.

3. Follow the 60-30-10 rule

Most PPC landing pages today utilize two hues along with an accent color for some aspects of the site, such as logos. With the 60-30-10 rule in mind, you can apply this same principle. The 60 percent represents your website’s background, the 30 percent represents the additional hue, and the 10 percent represents any CTAs, including your logo.

Let your most neutral color be 60, base color 30, and accent color 10. Of course, you can’t just select any color to use. Do the research and find out what attracts your audience and which colors work well with the other.

Remember, stick to a simple color scheme of no more than two hues plus an accent color, select a color that attracts everyone or your audience of interest, and follow the 60-30-10 rule. By following these tips, you’ll not only create a PPC landing page that looks more attractive but will also enjoy a higher conversion rate.
