Suspended By Google Ads?

Being a market leader, Google aims to maintain a sustainable and healthy digital advertising ecosystem. Strict adherence to legal compliances and user protection are its two main objectives, which make its Ads policies very strict and straightforward.

Why Google suspends Ads?

If your Google Ad account has been suspended, it could be due to egregious policy violations or other policy violations.

Google defines an egregious violation as a violation that is so serious in nature; it is considered unlawful by Google. It also poses a threat to Google users and its digital Ad platform. Egregious violations lead to account suspension without any prior warning. It leads to a permanent ban.

In case of any other violations, Google notifies the user at least 7 days prior to the account suspension. The users are intimated about the nature of the violation and appropriate steps to correct it.

Appealing for a suspended Ad

If the user believes that there’s been an error on Google’s part, he/she can submit an appeal.

Steps for the same

Step 1 Appeal can be submitted through the “status” column of the Ad.

Step 2 Click on “appeal” to navigate to the appeal form. The relevant policy information will appear on the page to help you understand the alleged violation and appeal process

Step 3 Once the appeal is reviewed by the Google team, the user is sent an email with the outcome of the appeal. If the appeal is accepted, the account suspension is lifted.

Step 4 If your appeal is rejected, a re-appeal can be submitted following the similar process.

Steps to lift the suspension in case of violations

Step 1

If you have missed your Google warning and ended up with account suspension, the first thing would be to log in to your account and go through an intimation sent by Google.

Step 2

Learn about the nature of the violation and read the relevant part of the Google policy to understand what went wrong.

Step 3

Once you are thorough with the reason and the relevant Ad policy, correct the violation and make your site compliant.

Some instances of policy violations and ways to fix them:

  • If any Ads have been disapproved, edit the Ad and make it compliant
  • If any deceptive content has been published, correct the same and make the information reliable
  • If your website has been suspended due to suspected Hacking or Malware, work on the security measures and make it secure before submitting your appeal for revocation of the suspension
  • If the suspension is due to payment methods, add a new credit card. Your credit card should have the same name as that of the account holder. The same credit card could not be used for two accounts.
