How to Claim a Refund for Invalid Clicks on Google Ads

Google Ads employs over a hundred complex algorithms to detect bad traffic in real-time. Their global team of data scientists, engineers, and researchers work round the clock to keep advertisers from paying for invalid clicks and other invalid activities, and publishers from profiting from them.

When Google Ads discovers a problem, it suspends or disables invalid accounts, and may withhold payments from the publishers.

But wait, don’t panic!

If your account has been suspended due to invalid clicks and had some credit left you can always claim a refund for invalid clicks on Google Ads.

Understanding invalid clicks on Google Ads

Clicks on advertisements that Google considers fraudulent, such as those made unintentionally or as a result of malicious malware, qualify as invalid clicks. Google filters these invalid clicks out of your account reports and payments automatically so you are not charged for them.

But if it is discovered that invalid clicks escaped from Google Ads automated system, you will be eligible for a credit for those clicks.

Now if Google Ads notices that any publisher’s account is creating an excessive amount of invalid traffic, their account will be suspended until they correct the issue.

Suspension due to invalid clicks

Google Ads analyses all clicks and impressions to see if they fit a pattern of use that could artificially inflate an advertiser’s expenses or a publisher’s earnings, in addition to monitoring for policy breaches. If your account is found to have invalid traffic, it will be suspended.

In case of account suspension, one might want to get their credit refunded. Here is how you can do that-
