Google is the uncontested market leader in digital advertising, with 37% of the market share, followed by Facebook in a distant second. As a result, whether you run an eCommerce store or any other type of product-based business, you may need to use Google Ads.
With that said Google Ads takes regulatory requirements as well as user safety very seriously. As a result, advertiser actions that endanger Google’s users or partners may result in account suspensions.
Here we will look at the reasons for the disputed Google Ads charge and how to fix account suspension because of the same.
What is Disputed Google Ads Charge?
Your account may be suspended in terms of disputed charge for one of the following reasons:
Abuse of promotional codes: Your account may be suspended if you try to sell promotional coupons or use more than one promotional code on the same account. See the country-specific terms and conditions for promotional codes for more information.
Requesting a chargeback: Your account may be suspended if you urge your bank or credit card issuer to reverse a charge made against a lawful Google Ads balance (also known as requesting a chargeback).
Suspicious payment behaviour: If we discover suspicious or fraudulent payment activity on your account, we may limit or suspend your account’s spending power.
Overdue balances: If you have one or more overdue balances on your account, it may be temporarily suspended.
Account suspension due to disputed Google Ads charge
Any violation of a Google Ads policy regarding billing and payment-related charges can result in your account being suspended. If an advertiser violates a Google Ads advertising policy, Google Ads will send a notice outlining the policy infringement and any remedial action that might be taken to comply.
At that point, the advertiser will have the option to clear the disputed payment following the policy and if they do not believe they have broken the policy, to explain why they do not believe they have by the way of appeal.
This notice will be given at least 7 days before the suspension is implemented.
